Delhi's Umrao Singh Jewellery Shop Robbed of Precious Ornaments worth Rs. 25 Crores

• Ornaments worth Rs 20-25 crores were stolen from Umrao Singh Jewellery shop in Jangpura's Bhogal locality in Delhi
• Thieves entered the shop's locker room by creating a hole in the walls
• The thieves decamped with all the gold and diamond ornaments leaving behind just the silver ones

In a startling incident that took place in the national capital, a staggering amount of ornaments valued at Rs 20-25 crores were stolen from Umrao Singh Jewellery shop located in Jangpura's Bhogal locality. The theft occurred in post-midnigh of Monday (September 25). The thieves gained access to the shop's locker room by creating a hole in the walls. As per preliminary reports and videos circulating on social media, the thieves decamped with all the gold and diamond ornaments while leaving behind only the silver ones.

After the theft came to light, a case was promptly filed, and the Nizamuddin police arrived at the scene on Tuesday morning (September 26). Authorities are currently reviewing the CCTV footage from the showroom to aid in their investigation.

The owner of the shop grew suspicious when he saw the panel of the shop broken, and upon opening the shop's shutter, he was met with the shocking discovery that all the precious diamond and gold jewellery had been stolen. According to the information available, police is also trying to ascertain why the security systems in the shop did not work or raise an alarm at the time of theft. Also, the majority of the ornaments were looted from the strong room of the shop.
